Why We Answer The Call .
Henrico 911 is the heart of public safety operations and the lifeline between people in need and providing them with Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services. Being a 911 Dispatcher is not just what we do, but who we are. Check out the testimonials below from some of our stars in the Emergency Communications Center!

Kimberly has been with the Henrico DEC for almost 6 years after working in the medical sector. She thrives on being able to help our community members in their time of need!
One of Kimberly’s special memories is helping a woman who was trying to find a number for an emergency in Germany. Thanks to her quick thinking and the availability of resources, Kimberly was able to provide that information to the caller, who was incredibly grateful.

The variety of unpredictable calls, experiences and work comradery is what keeps Leah Casuccio coming back to the DEC year after year!
She’s one of our energetic Communications Supervisors who is able to jump in to help in a time of need, while ensuring all other dispatchers are ready to conquer their shift. She always brings the fun (i.e. did you see her “Royal Wednesday” outfit yesterday?) and a positive attitude, while maintaining a professional demeanor necessary for the job.
“That feeling of walking out of here every day knowing I have impacted someone, some way, somehow, every day… and they don’t even know my name,” Leah said.
